Mr. Mhetre

History :

This patient was a 55-year-old man who had undergone spine surgery for lumbar disc herniation (PIVD) a year ago. However, he returned to Spine Pain Treatment in Pune Dr. Sangram Rajale with complaints of lower back pain, particularly worsening with any movement, along with right lower limb pain that had been severe for the past 15 days. He also had tingling and numbness in the affected area. Also, the patient could only walk for about 150 meters before experiencing pain in the legs. Furthermore, he could only stand for 10 minutes before needing to sit down due to discomfort.

Bilateral L5-S1 Degenerative Facetal Arthropathy with Listhesis:

Relation to Patient’s History: the above indicate degenerative changes in the facet joints and a slight shift of one vertebra over the other.

Operation :

The patient underwent a surgical procedure known as L5-S1 Transforaminal Lumbar Interbody Fusion (TLIF) with Laminectomy on 12/04/2022. This operation was done under general anesthesia by Spine Surgery Specialist in Pune Dr. Sangram Rajale.

Condition On Discharge :

The patient remained stable throughout the hospital stay.

The suture line remained dry and clean, indicating good wound healing.

The patient was able to walk on day 2 after the surgery, indicating early mobility.

By day 3 post-surgery, the patient was able to climb stairs, demonstrating further progress in mobility.

The patient was discharged on day 5, indicating successful recovery and readiness for home care.

The patient was able to mobilize with full weight bearing while walking, suggesting good strength and stability.

At the 6-month follow-up, the patient expressed high levels of satisfaction and happiness with the treatment received, indicating a successful outcome.
